- In 1983 became youngest player ever to win a singles Davis Cup final aged 17
- Played semi finals Wimbledon, 1984 aged only 19
- 1984 US Open Semi Final lost a 5 set thriller to Ivan Lendl
- Won the Davis Cup for Australia, 1986 fighting back from 2 sets to 0 in the deciding match
- 1987 Austrailan Open, lost a tough 5 setter to Stefin Edberg
