Port Vale FC’s first home game of the 2008/09 season took place on Saturday 16th August and Dan Ames was invited onto the pitch prior to kick off by Chairman, Bill Bratt, to be introduced as the main sponsor to the fans.
A crowd of over 6,500 watched the game which Port Vale unfortunately lost 2-0, but after winning their first league game 3-1 away to Luton Town FC on 9th August the club is still hoping for promotion this season.
